Meet your hosts

Rae Chrysalis is a professional silk fan teacher, embodiment coach, classically trained dancer, and captivating performer with over 30 years of dance and performance experience. She has toured with artists like Seven Lions and Ayla Nereo and performed at renowned festivals, including Envision Festival, Shambhala, and Lightning in a Bottle. As the founder of Chrysalis Silk Studies, Rae guides students in 60 countries worldwide to explore the art of silk fans–blending dance technique, flow arts, and soulful expression. Known for breaking down complex movements with clarity, Rae makes mastering challenging techniques feel intuitive and accessible. Students rave about Rae’s ability to create a safe and empowering space where they can dive deep, connect with their bodies and movement in new ways, and unlock their most authentic expression.

Karina Flow has been a dedicated teacher and performer in the flow arts world for over five years. In that time, she’s made a powerful mark on the community - building an international following and inspiring countless students with her passion and presence. As a full-time professional entertainer and silk veil prop creatrix, Karina has graced major events including the Grand Prix, FIFA, Melbourne’s iconic FIRELIGHT, and some of Australia’s biggest music and arts festivals. Her mesmerizing movement and fresh approach to veil flow arts are born from a lifelong devotion to dance, embodiment, and creative expression. At the heart of her mission is a desire to build community, share her wisdom, and guide others in discovering the joy of silk fan dance and the beauty of their own inner flow.

Our Retreat Sanctuary

All meals and daily detox juices are freshly prepared by our specialist onsite chefs & served in the communal dining pagoda.

  • ꕥ Flights are NOT included, you must book these separately and fly into Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS)

    ꕥ A tourist visa must be obtained upon arrival - this costs around $30USD and is valid for 30 days.

    ꕥ We recommend downloading the Grab app (local uber service) for the cheapest transfer to and from the airport

    ꕥ Upon arrival at the airport, its best to buy a local sim card with prepaid data, the shop assistants are really helpful in setting this up for you

    ꕥ After registering you’ll receive a welcome pack guide to help you prepare for 7 days of pure bliss

  • ꕥ Room choices are first come, first served so the earlier you book the more flexibility you have picking the arrangement most suitable for you

    ꕥ Wifi is available throughout the resort as well as complimentary bottled water restocked in the mini fridge in each room

    ꕥ Spa treatments as well as snacks / additional drinks prepared by our in house Masseuse + chefs can be purchased for an additional cost

    ꕥ The retreat is located in the heart of Bali - a coastal village nestled amongst rice fields thats walking distance to the beach

  • ꕥ Meal times will be around 7am, 1pm and 7pm with training starting at 9.30am.

    ꕥ Expect 5-6 hrs of workshops per day including skill training, body conditioning, drills, choreography, stretch technique, embodiment practices and restorative & connection sessions.

    A full retreat schedule will be shared in due course - we have so much in store for you!

    ꕥ One full day of exploring Ubud - a lush, culturally rich and spiritual town surrounded by dense jungle, sacred temples, flowing rivers, waterfalls and wild monkeys.

    *Water rafting excursion is optional and highly recommended!

    ꕥ Half day Video Shooting

    The group video project will be filmed on the last day at a secret location with an epic Balinese backdrop

    *Additional services with our experienced photographer/videographers can be arranged for participants post retreat

  • Start by checking in with where your skills are now:

    ꕥ If you’re confident with flag grip transitions, overhead or windmill weaves, two-beat, hip, or shoulder weaves, then you’ll likely be placed in the intermediate/advanced track.

    ꕥ If you’re still working primarily with open or closed grip basics, and aren’t yet solid in your weaves, the beginner track will be the best fit.

    If you’re still unsure, no worries -we’re offering optional phone consultations to help determine which track will best support your growth. And we’ll also check in with everyone once we arrive at the retreat, since skill levels can definitely shift by then.


  • You’ll be placed in the track that’s the best fit for where you are at. While choreography and technique classes will be separate, many sessions - like ballet technique, fan tech and shapes, as well as stage presence and confidence building - will be shared across the whole group. You’ll be in community no matter your track.

  • Each track will have its own choreography to showcase dancers at their current level. There will also be a shared group section where we all come together on screen.

  • You’ll receive a coordinated top and bottom outfit from Ember & Fern as part of your retreat package - available in a few style options to best suit your body, and all in our chosen film color palette. We’ll also send a suggested packing list before the retreat, with tips on accessories and what photographs well on camera. Your gifted silk fans will be used in the film.

  • We recommend bringing a practice pair if you have one. Rae will also have additional fans available for purchase on-site from Chrysalis Silk Studies or you can purchase in advance online from either Rae or Silk Oracle. Your official fans (included in your retreat sign up) will be given out just before the video shoot so they stay clean and pristine.

  • This is one of Bali’s most beautiful seasons -warm and sunny, with lower humidity and very little rain. Perfect for outdoor filming and adventuring.

  • You’ll receive a high-quality digital copy of the final group film within 6–8 weeks after the retreat. We may also share select behind-the-scenes footage, depending on what’s captured during the week.

  • Totally accommodated. After registering, you’ll be added to our private WhatsApp group where you’ll fill out your dietary needs and other details like travel info, insurance, and what to pack. You’ll be well taken care of.

  • Yes - we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers international travel, activities, and any unexpected changes to your plans.
